The Positions

We currently have an exciting opportunity for a Clearance Visual Merchandising Planner to join our Visual Merchandising team based at our Head Office in Hawthorn!

Our Visual Merchandising Planner plays a key role in delivering innovative and well planned VM strategies for all of our stores.  They partner with the National VM Coordinator, State & Regional Manager/s ensure all stores are set correctly & trained in all aspects of Visual Merchandising.

Position Responsibilities:

  • Develop & plan National Visual Merchandising (VM) Guidelines and merchandising presentation updates 
  • Develop product presentation standards
  • Plan, research & develop merchandising ideas & strategies to achieve sales budgets
  • regularly meet with buyers & product planners to discuss seasonal looks , product information , expectations and deliveries
  • research product features and benefits to deliver merchandising solutions to maximize sales
  • research new interior trends
  • plan merchandising changes in accordance with promotions & events
  • work closely with the regional VMs to ensure guidelines and merchandising updates are actioned & maintain high at standards
  • assemble and print merchandising weekly merchandising update documents to communicate merchandising direction & standards to all stores
  • Attend weekly management  sales meetings to analyze the performance of products
  • Regularly visit stores to review product presentation & other retail competitors
  • Ensure stores and/or departments align with marketing editorial calendar to drive appropriate marketing messages to the customer
  • Maintain a strong understanding of available tools and apply effective approaches to tasks and initiatives
  • Support regional teams on all aspects of visual merchandising related to allocated departments
  • Review department sales to develop supporting signage & liase with product planners to ensure the signage supports the promotions
  • Train, coach, and support regional vms & stores teams to achieve goals and become brand ambassadors that uphold critical standards
  • Proactively collaborate with regional teams to ensure visual merchandising goals are being achieved, including scheduling walk through to communicate store observations, issues/opportunities and provide a strategy for improvement

The Perfect Profile

We are proud of our unique, privately owned business model and we are therefore looking for a candidate that has a passion and a strong understanding of how a family run business operates. 

The ideal candidate will have excellent communication skills with the ability to liaise at all levels and across all departments.

We are also looking for a candidate that is enthusiastic, experienced and energetic with a natural flare for Interior design/styling. You will show initiative and creativity in solving problems and have the capability to build strong working relationships with our store teams and our regional managers. 

To be successful in this role, a qualification in Visual Merchandising and/or Interior Design is essential and a genuine interest in homewares. 

This role also requires a high level of proficiency in Photoshop/Indesign or similar and with Microsoft Office Suite.

This role is based at our Head Office in Hawthorn however; applicants must have their own vehicle and a current driver's licence as there will be regular travel to stores. Some interstate travel maybe required.

  • Minimum of 5 years’ experience in Visual Merchandising or equivalent.
  • Dedication to delivering exceptional aesthetic results with an awareness and interest of consumer trends
  • Attention to detail and excellent communication both written and verbal
  • Excellent interpersonal and organisational skills in order to balance conflicting priorities
  • Ability to work as part of a team
  • Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines
  • Ability to problem solve and to to display solution focused thinking
  • Resourceful, creative and driven
